Project overview

I worked on the localisation of website content for a well-established guitar brand within the music industry. Particularly, the project involved translating a section of the website that allows customers to design and customise their own guitar.

Ensuring an effective translation of all customisation options by consistently following the visual elements and options available on the site. The translated content should allow users to navigate the guitar creation process smoothly and intuitively.

The main challenge was the highly specialised terminology related to guitar manufacturing materials and components. The website included the following customisable options:

Special attention paid to the following aspects:

  • Concise wording, respecting the space and character constraints of the website.
  • Alignment with the brand’s tone, communication style, and vocabulary.

Term accuracy and consistency were essential, as incorrect translations could lead to confusion and an unsatisfactory purchasing experience for both professional and amateur musicians. Throughout the project, it was particularly valuable testing the customisation tool in real time and selecting different options as if creating a real guitar.

Results

The translation reinforces the brand’s image and helps build trust among customers seeking to create their premium guitar. Customers can create their ‘ideal guitar’ with confidence.
